Correction Policy
We take accuracy seriously. This policy explains how to report an error on PetFriendlyHub, what we do when we receive a correction, and our commitment to being transparent about changes.
How to Report an Error
If you find information on PetFriendlyHub that you believe is incorrect, outdated, or misleading, please let us know by emailing hello@petfriendlyhub.com.
To help us verify and address your report as quickly as possible, please include:
- The URL of the page where the error appears.
- The specific data point or statement you believe is incorrect.
- The correct information, if you know it.
- A link to an official source that supports the correction (an airline policy page, hotel website, manufacturer spec sheet, etc.).
- Any context about when a policy or spec changed, if applicable.
You do not need to provide a source to submit a correction. If you're not sure where to find the correct information but something looks wrong, please still reach out. We'll investigate from our side.
What Happens When We Receive a Correction
Every correction report follows the same process:
- Acknowledgment (within 1 business day). We'll reply to confirm we received your message and are looking into it.
- Verification. We cross-reference the reported information against official sources. For policy data, this means checking the airline's or hotel group's current published policy page. For product specifications, we check the manufacturer's official documentation and, where applicable, the retailer product page.
- Resolution (within 3 business days). Based on our verification, we will:
- If the error is confirmed: Update the page with the correct information, add a correction note, and let you know it's been fixed.
- If the information matches the official source: Let you know what we found and share the source we checked against, so you can see for yourself.
- If sources conflict: We'll note the discrepancy on the page and explain what each source says, until we can resolve the conflict.
Correction Timeline
Our standard timeline for corrections is:
- Acknowledgment: Within 1 business day of receiving your report.
- Verification and resolution: Within 3 business days.
- Urgent corrections (safety-related, major fee changes, or significant policy reversals): We aim to verify and update within 1 business day.
If verification requires additional time (for example, if an airline's customer service needs to confirm a policy), we'll let you know and provide an updated timeline.
Transparency About Corrections
When we make a correction to a page that is more than a minor typo fix, we add a correction note to the page indicating what was changed and when. The format is typically:
Correction [date]: [Brief description of what was corrected. Example: "Updated Delta cabin pet fee from $95 to $125 to reflect June 2026 policy change."]
Minor corrections such as typo fixes, formatting adjustments, or broken link repairs may be made without a public note, at our discretion. Any change that affects the substantive accuracy of policy data, product specifications, or fee information will be noted.
We do not silently rewrite history. If a policy has changed and we update our page to reflect the new policy, we note the update and the date. We do not retroactively edit correction notes to remove evidence of past errors.
User-Submitted Feedback and Corrections
We are grateful when readers take the time to help us improve our accuracy. While we cannot offer compensation for corrections, we genuinely appreciate every report and acknowledge contributors by first name (with permission) when corrections are credited on the page.
What We Cannot Correct
There are limitations to what we can address through our correction process:
- Policy disputes with airlines or hotels. If you disagree with a policy itself (for example, you think a pet fee is too high), that is a matter between you and the airline or hotel. We report what the policy is, not what we think it should be.
- User feedback themes. Our feedback summaries reflect aggregated trends from publicly available reviews. We cannot "correct" a feedback trend unless the aggregation itself is flawed (for example, we misattributed a theme to the wrong airline). If you believe a feedback theme is unrepresentative, you're welcome to share your perspective and we'll consider it in our next review of that feedback set.
- Third-party content. We cannot correct errors on external websites (airline sites, retailer pages, etc.). If the official source itself contains an error, we can note the discrepancy on our page but cannot fix the source.
